Born and raised with a passion for service and leadership, Jim embarked on his academic journey at Jackson State University, graduating in 1979 with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology.
Throughout his undergraduate years, he demonstrated exceptional leadership qualities as evidenced by his role as the Student Body President and R.O.T.C. Battalion Commander during his senior year. His academic prowess earned him a coveted spot on the Dean's List and various accolades, including recognition as a Superior Military Student, Cadet, and Graduate.
Jim's dedication to excellence continued as he pursued further education, earning his Master of Business Administration from Drury University in Springfield, Missouri. His thirst for challenge and adventure led him to serve as a Foreign Liaison Officer at Fort Benjamin Harrison, Indiana, where he honed his skills in diplomacy and international relations.

He held pivotal roles at Corning in the Scientific Products Division, where he spearheaded domestic and international marketing and sales initiatives, showcasing his versatility and business acumen.
Jim's journey in the financial sector continued to ascend as he assumed the positions of Vice President and Director at McLaughlin Securities, overseeing operations at both the Wall Street and San Francisco offices. His leadership and vision propelled the company to new heights, cementing his reputation as a dynamic and forward-thinking executive.
In 2006, drawing upon his wealth of experience and entrepreneurial spirit, Jim founded Griffith Holding & Financial Services, a testament to his commitment to excellence and dedication to providing superior financial solutions to clients.
